This newspaper, most correctly known simply as The Times, began publication in 1785 and continues to this day.
The February 17, 1792 edition of The Times carried the following notice:
A Newfoundland Dog came into the Office of the TIMES, Printing House square, Blackfriars, on Wednesday last. — On satisfactorily identifying him, the Owner may have him again on paying the expenses. If not owned within fourteen days from this Date hereof he will be sold.
