This newspaper, most correctly known simply as The Times, began publication in 1785 and continues to this day.
The edition of January 25, 1845, contained a "found Newf" notice — black coat but with unusual white patches:
BLACK NEWFOUNDLAND DOG followed a person; has a white streak on the forehead and right side of the neck and breast, white on the forefeet and tip of the tail; has been with the person since the 3rd of January. The owner may have him on paying expenses. Unless claimed within 14 days will be sold to defray expenses. Apply to J. Reynolds, 92, Grave-street, Camden-town.
