[ London Times ]
This newspaper, most correctly known simply as The Times, began publication in 1785 and continues to this day.
The edition of January 2, 1847, carried an ad that is both a "lost and found Newf" ad (!):
TWO GUINEAS REWARD. — STRAYED, about three weeks ago, from New-park-road, Brixton-hill, a BLACK NEWFOUNDLAND DOG, short ears and a long ring tail, answers to the name of Hero. Whoever has found him, and will bring him to Mr. Spicer, New-park-road, Brixton-hill, shall receive the above reward. Whoever detains him after this notice will be prosecuted. Also, Found a Black and White Newfoundland Dog. Whoever has lost him, and will give a proper description, may have him on payment of expenses.
Note that the above image contains two Newfoundland-related advertisements. The first is not listed or treated separately since it contains no coat-color information.
