[ London Times ]
This newspaper, most correctly known simply as The Times, began publication in 1785 and continues to this day.
The edition of March 8, 1847, had two advertisements related to Newfs, one of which is not treated here at The Cultured Newf because it had no coat-color information (which was the case for many "found Newf" notices). The second ad was for a lost Newfoundland:
LOST, a NEWFOUNDLAND DOG, black head and ears, black tail tipped with white, white body, spotted legs, stands about two feet and a half high, and answers to the name of Nep. Whoever will bring him to 184, St. John-street, West Smithfield, will receive ONE GUINEA REWARD.
