This newspaper, most correctly known simply as The Times, began publication in 1785 and continues to this day.
The edition of December 18, 1835 carried the following "lost and found" notice:
ONE DOG FOUND and TWO LOST. The dog found is black and white, of the Newfoundland breed. Of those lost, one is also a Newfoundland dog, black and white, answering to the name of Lion....
