A Mountain Hound
by
Samuel Raven
Raven (1775 - 1847) — not to be confused with the English landscape painter John Samuel Raven (1829—1877) — was an English painter of hunting and animal subjects.
This painting is clearly a "knock-off" of Philip Reinagle's painting of a Newfoundland dog for the Sportsman's Cabinet of 1803, discussed separately here at The Cultured Newf.
